Tokyo, October 27, 2015 - Ricoh today announced that the PENTAX 645Z interchangeable lens medium format digital SLR camera, released in June 2014 and marketed by Ricoh Imaging Company Ltd., won a Special Mention in the German Design Award 2016.

The German Design Award is a prestigious international design award by the German Design Council, which was established in 1953 with the support of the German Federal Parliament (Bundestag). From among products with outstanding designs around the world, those recommended by the German Design Council alone are nominated for the award, which is structured in four tiers: firstly, Gold; secondly, Winner; thirdly, Special Mention and fourthly, Nominee. A Special Mention is a prize awarded to superior designs among the nominees. This time, "PENTAX 645Z" is in honor of the award in the Entertainment category.
